Bode's struggles continue
It appears that the roller coaster ride skiing phenom Bode Miller started last year will continue in the 2005-2006 season leading up the Olympics in February.
According to an article posted in Yahoo Sports on Friday, Daron Rahlves was the US Mens contender in Super G at Beaver Creek, an event in which Bode is usually sure to medal. Bode failed to finish. Congrats to Daron for the great showing. I hope that if it is his final season that he goes out on top...he deserves that after such an exciting career.
As for Bode...Am I worried? Not yet. Although Bode had a great start in the 2004-2005 season, he slumped in the middle and still went home with a championship globe. So, let his slump come now, early in the season when there is still plenty of time make up for the lost points.
However, it does make one wonder if maybe our favorite Granite Stater is ready for a career change, or a not so radical sabbatical.
Regardless, I, for one, am still 100% behind Bode.
